What's a specialty bike shop? Exactly like it says. Mainstream bike shops don't cover BMX anymore. The profit margins are low, the customers few, and the bikes specialized. BMX race bikes are a niche in a niche and are sized and built differently. Local bike shops aren't setup to handle these simple yet complex race bikes and their quirks. Nor do they stay current in the BMX race scene and community. Many don't even carry the special size and/or type tubes BMX race bikes use. We fit the bike to the rider. You wouldn't go to Ford to buy a Ferrari, or take your Ferrari to Hyundai for repair, would you?
